Sector:

Client:

Ellmer Construction

Project Background

BM Steel Fabrications was appointed by Ellmer Construction to deliver specialist fabrication and installation services as part of the redevelopment of the Allen Stand at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

Located at the Pavilion End of the world-renowned venue, the project forms part of the continued modernisation of Lord’s, the historic home of Marylebone Cricket Club and one of the most celebrated sporting venues in the world.

Demolition and rebuilding of the existing stand began following the conclusion of the 2025 cricket season. Phase 1 was handed over in time for the 2026 season, providing permanent seating and facilities for use throughout the summer. Construction is scheduled to continue in September, with full completion targeted ahead of the 2027 Ashes series.

BM Steel fabricated and installed 20 linear metres of picket fence railings at the front of the Allen Stand. The railings were manufactured using recycled aluminium, supporting the project’s architectural and sustainability requirements.

The company also delivered temporary evacuation stairs at the side of the stand, with further secondary steelwork packages progressing as part of the wider redevelopment.

Working within a live and internationally recognised sporting venue required detailed planning, accurate fabrication and carefully coordinated installation. BM Steel collaborated closely with Ellmer Construction, project managers and site stakeholders to complete the works safely while minimising disruption to ongoing operations at Lord’s.

The project demonstrates BM Steel’s ability to deliver bespoke architectural metalwork and secondary steel solutions in complex operational environments. It also strengthens the company’s growing portfolio of landmark commercial, sporting and infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland.
